Hello, Congratulations on your pregnancy.
You are about to undergo an incredible journey on becoming a mother. I am here to guide and support you through this journey.
I am a New Zealand qualified, registered midwife, with over 12 years midwifery experience.
I first worked as a core midwife in Queen Mary Maternity unit before moving to Wanaka in 2013.
For the past 7 years I have been working in our local area as a midwife. Firstly, in a primary unit, and since 2018, as a lead maternity carer in Wanaka.
I have learned what challenges we face as remote rural midwives and applied them to safe midwifery practice.
I joined Deb Harvey at Wanaka Midwives in 2018 when our community was in need of more midwives. Deb and I have a great working relationship supporting one another and caring for the woman in our caseload.
My philosophy is a calm natural birth. My approach to labour is hands off, relaxed atmosphere with patience. Many of our clients attend hypnobirthing classes and apply this to their birth experience. I have supported many local families with beautiful calm births at home or at Charlotte Jean Maternity.
I also work with the Obstetric team in Dunedin for more complicated pregnancies. If your wish is to birth in the hospital, Wanaka Midwives has teamed up with Choice Midwifery in Dunedin and together we provide seamless care.
I have three children of my own, two of which have been born locally at Charlotte Jean Maternity and at home in Wanaka.
Contact me on 027 275 3336 or email email@example.com to discuss further.
I look forward to hearing from you.
‘My Husband and I birthed our first child at home during the Covid lockdown. What could have been an extremely stressful time became the best experience of my life. We could not have done it without our midwife Peta Hosking. We were lucky enough to have Peta through our whole pregnancy, birth and after care. Her relaxed and friendly attitude made us feel safe and relaxed throughout. We will miss her visits! We can’t thank her enough for all she has done for the 3 of us. Hopefully we will see her again for round 2!’
